Mobile phone technology is improving all of the time and as processing power and the standard of software improves, so does the quality of the cameras we see built into phones. Although not all mobile phones have particularly good cameras, most people would be satisfied with a decent photo quality as they only take the odd snap, but there are some phones out there that have cameras as good as many of the entry level digital cameras out there.
It is possible to be serious about photography and use a camera phone to take your photos but you need to know which phones have the very best cameras. It’s lucky I’m here then as I know some of the very best phones for photography. Here is a list of the very best.
Sony Ericsson Vivaz
Sony Ericsson has long had a reputation of producing great camera phones. Their Cyber Shot phones of a few years ago took a great picture when compared to other phones around at the time and the company has kept this reputation alive with the Vivaz. Takes a great picture and has plenty of options including white balance, focus type, and exposure compensation, as well as different preset scene settings to play with.
Motorola Milestone XT720
On paper, this is a fantastic phone with 8 megapixels, a xenon flash that should theoretically outstrip any LED flash and auto focus. In reality though the phone falls just short of fantastic, merely being really, really good. Great contrast and colours on your photos make up for its shortcomings and it is definitely up there with the top camera phones at the moment.
This phone is very much the King of the camera phone world, a marvellous 12 pixel offering from Nokia and with pretty much every feature you may want from a camera phone. Features such as the largest sensor of any phone which dramatically improves its performance in low light, a mechanical shutter that is fast enough to helps capture shots as they happen, a powerful Xenon flash and 28mm wide angle lens. Quite simply the best camera phone around.
